Join the inaugural European Soil Judging Contest, a unique opportunity for students to showcase their field skills in soil description, classification, and interpretation. Held in the stunning Mediterranean mountain region of Alcoi, the event combines a four-day technical training course with a hands-on competition across two natural parks—Font Roja and Sierra de Mariola.
Participants will work in teams of four, representing their country or region, and compete by analysing soil profiles using internationally recognized standards such as the World Reference Base for Soil Resources and Soil Taxonomy. The contest evaluates both team and individual performance, with winners selected based on their ability to classify soils and assess their functions under various land uses.
Organized by Universidad Miguel Hernández and co-financed through the Erasmus+ BIP program, this event fosters international collaboration, scientific excellence, and practical learning in soil science.
