The EU Soil Strategy for 2030 provides the framework for soil protection and restoration. In this sense, the new proposal for a Soil Health Directive establishes a comprehensive and coherent monitoring framework, and promotes sustainable soil management and the remediation of contaminated sites.
During the Belgian Soil Week, the Belgian regional administrations in charge of soil health and international experts will present various ongoing projects. Soil health challenges will be addressed from a variety of perspectives, providing complementary perspectives on current and future soil management practices.
The different events organized as part of the Belgian Soil Week are:
11-12/03: Joint event of the Belgian regional administrations and the Common Forum on soil management initiatives (by invitation only & member of the FC, see more information here)
13/03: Joint NICOLE & Common Forum Workshop - The future of managing soil contamination (registration required, see more information here)
14-15/03: ENSOr - International workshop on emerging policy challenges on New SOil contaminants (registration required, see more information here)
