Soil is the habitat and the supplier of nutrients and water for plants and their roots. Fertile and productive soils are the prerequisite for a stable supply of food, fibre, animal feed, timber and other biomasses.
EJP SOIL's goal
Improve understanding of agricultural soil management by targeting:
Climate change mitigation and adaptation
Food security and ecosystem services
Soil education in Europe and capacity building
Climate smart sustainable soil management is the adequate response to these key societal challenges.
Over the course of this week, Annual Science Days 2024 aims to address two main questions:
How do we make the EJP SOIL results sustainable, accessible, and make them spread over into initiatives and policymaking.
What are the messages to our stakeholders?
The event will consist of:
The Annual Science Days & the General Meeting
Time for project meetings, board meetings, and a possible field trip.
The preliminary programme for the week and any future updates can be found by visiting the EJP SOIL website.
