The project's main activities will directly address the eight foreseen outputs. First, a bibliographic analysis and literature review will be carried out to assess the current state of the art on the implications of different agronomic soil management in semi-arid vineyards. Second, the viticultural parameters will be evaluated before and after the implementation of the pilots, and pilot projects for the implementation of living and inert vegetation covers will be implemented in the plots assigned for this purpose.
A technical and socio-economic analysis will then be carried out to determine the feasibility of the application of green cover in semi-arid viticulture. This will result in a feasibility plan and a contingency plan. This will be followed by an analysis of the impact of innovative agronomic practices on soil diversity.
The final stage of the project will involve the creation of best practice guides, recommendations for soil management and a roadmap for replicability. These will contribute to the modernisation and sustainability of the sector.
